Amex Blue Cash Preferred: The Disney Bundle Credit Most People Forget
Amex Blue Cash Preferred: The Disney Bundle Credit Most People Forget
The Blue Cash Preferred is a cash-back card — 6% on groceries, 3% on gas — that happens to carry a streaming credit most cardholders never notice. The fee is $0 the first year, then $95. The credit is $120 a year. Do the subtraction.
How much is the Blue Cash Preferred Disney Bundle credit?
The Blue Cash Preferred Disney Bundle credit is worth up to $120 per year, paid as $10 per month as a statement credit, subject to auto-renewal. It covers U.S. purchases at Disneyplus.com, Hulu.com, and Stream.ESPN.com — the Disney Bundle services. Enrollment is required.
How to use it: Enroll in your Amex account, then pay for the Disney Bundle (or any of the three services) with the card. Set it to auto-pay and never think about it again.
What changed: this credit was $7 a month ($84/year) until August 1, 2025, when Amex raised it to $10 a month ($120/year). A lot of 2026 articles still show the old $7 figure — if the math in a review looks off, that's why.
Is the Blue Cash Preferred worth the $95 annual fee?
Yes — the $120 annual Disney Bundle credit covers the $95 fee with $25 to spare, and that's before the 6% grocery cash back, which is the actual reason to hold the card. Year one has a $0 fee, so it is $120 in credit plus 6% groceries with no fee. There is no trick here.
What are the Blue Cash Preferred Disney credit traps?
The three Blue Cash Preferred traps are never enrolling, paying through the wrong channel, and following outdated guides.
- Enrollment required. The credit doesn't work until you activate it. This is the #1 reason people miss it — they pay for Disney+ with the card for a year, never enroll, and get $0 back.
- It has to be the bundle services, bought direct. Paying for Hulu through Amazon or Apple doesn't count. Buy at Disneyplus.com, Hulu.com, or Stream.ESPN.com.
- The old Equinox credit is dead. It was eliminated October 31, 2024. Any guide listing it is outdated — ignore it.
How do you set up the Blue Cash Preferred Disney Bundle credit?
Enroll in the Disney Bundle credit (Amex account → Benefits), switch your Disney+/Hulu payment method to the Blue Cash Preferred, and turn on auto-pay. Two minutes, $120 a year, done.
